This policy explains what personal information PJ Signs collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry
Our enquiry forms ask for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, town or company, and details of the work you need. We only ask for what we need in order to reply and prepare a quote.
When you use the chat
If you use the chat window, the messages you send and any contact details you provide in it are stored so we can respond and follow up.
Automatically
Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation — this is in our legitimate interest as a business responding to someone who has contacted us.
- To carry out work you instruct us to do, and to invoice for it.
- To keep records required for tax and accounting purposes.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who else sees it
Your information is handled by the suppliers who run this website and our systems on our behalf — our website host, our email provider and our website developer, Mediatopia. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are kept for up to two years, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us. Records relating to completed work are kept for seven years to meet accounting requirements.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it, where we do not need to keep it.
- Object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it.
